On October 27, 2018, the Institute of Aviation held a Polish-Turkish meeting of representatives of research institutes, administration and science. The Turkish side was represented by scientific and managing staff from Izmir Institute of Technology and Teknopark Izmir.
The meeting was aimed at providing an overview on the activity of the Turkish institutions, familiarizing Turkish guests with the profile of similar Polish units and identifying scientific and commercial areas in which the Polish and Turkish side could start bilateral cooperation.
The agenda of the meeting included also a tour to laboratories and departments of the Institute of Aviation.
The delegation from Turkey was led by the chancellor of Izmir Institute of Technology – professor Mustafa Guden and managing directors of Teknopark Izmir.
The Institute of Aviation was represented by: managing director of the Institute of Aviation – Paweł Stężycki, deputy director of the Institute of Aviation – Sylwester Wyka, scientific director – Andrzej Leski, director’s proxy for scientific development – Joanna Cygler, manager of the Transport Department – Andrzej Tywoniuk, director of the Center for Composite Technologies – Konrad Kozaczuk, manager of the Aerodynamics Department – Mikołaj Jarkowski and team for commercialization and development – Agata Wierzbińska, Tomasz Osypowicz and Piotr Loroch.
The Polish administration and science were represented by: deputy director in the department of innovation in the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology – Robert Nowicki, deputy director in the department of innovation and development in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education – Mateusz Gaczyński, dean of the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering (Warsaw University of Technology) – Janusz Frączek and acting deputy director in the department for international cooperation at the National Centre for Research and Development – Cezary Błaszczyk.
