The Sectoral Competence Council for the Aviation Industry
The Sectoral Competence Council for the Aviation Industry is an advisory and consultative body supporting the education system in the area of vocational training.
The Council operates on the basis of Articles 4c and 4e of the Act on the Establishment of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, the Education Law Act, its adopted Rules of Procedure, and resolutions passed by the Council.
The primary objective of the Council is to identify and forecast qualifications and professional skills required in the development of the aviation industry, as well as to align formal and non‑formal education offerings with the needs of employers in the sector, while raising awareness among businesses of the importance of work‑based learning.
The Council’s key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and identifying qualifications and professional skills required within the sector
- Issuing and updating recommendations regarding alignment of the labor force with the current needs of employers in the aviation industry
- Identifying actions leading to development of the required competences, in cooperation with public administration—at a minimum with regional authorities—and with employer organizations and educational institutions
- Cooperation with the Sectoral Skills Centre
- Conducting educational activities and raising awareness, including disseminating information on the qualification and skill needs in the sector
- Building cooperation between employers and entities delivering formal and non‑formal education
The Council pursues its goals through dialogue and exchange of experiences among experts representing diverse stakeholder groups, including representatives of aviation industry enterprises, associations, clusters and other industry organizations, formal and non‑formal education institutions providing training for the sector, the government and local administration, as well as business support institutions connected to the industry.
The organization and operation of the Council has been entrusted by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development to the following supporting entities:
- Podkarpackie Centre for Innovation, based in Rzeszów, 4 T. Lenartowicza Street
- Aviation Valley – the Association of Aviation Industry Employers, based in Rzeszów, 51 Chopin Street
- Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, based in Warsaw, 110/114 Krakowska Avenue
