Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation is expanding its cooperation with the GE Vernova Engineering Innovation Center (EIC) in Warsaw to include the field of nuclear energy. Until now, joint projects have focused mainly on work related to gas and steam turbines. As of March, the scope of cooperation has also been extended to engineering work on a power plant project featuring the BWRX‑300 reactor. For the GE Vernova Engineering Innovation Center, this represents another step in developing the team and competencies necessary to deliver nuclear projects worldwide. The partnership with Łukasiewicz – ILOT will enable faster scaling of engineering resources and the further development of skills in this area.

As emphasized by Michał Małecki, Director of EIC, the cooperation with the Institute has been progressing very well for years, making the move into nuclear energy a natural direction. Sylwia Hołdyńska, Director of the Engineering Section at GE Vernova Hitachi within the GE Vernova Engineering Innovation Center, adds that thanks to the support of Łukasiewicz – ILOT, it will be possible to further expand the team working on BWRX‑300 projects and develop local competencies.

PhD DSc (Eng.) Cezary Szczepański, Professor ILOT, Director of Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation, notes that cooperation with the energy industry supports team development and aligns with efforts toward energy transition.
