On 21st September 2018, the Institute of Aviation hosted Mr. Patrick Ky, Executive Director of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). During his one-day visit to Poland, Mr. Patrick Ky met with the Managing Director of the Institute of Aviation Mr. Paweł Stężycki, Managing Director GE Company Polska Mr. Marian Lubieniecki and several employees of the Institute.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Aleksander Nawrat – Deputy Director of the National Centre for Research and Development, Mr. Piotr Samson – President of the Civil Aviation Authority (ULC), as well as the Vice President of ULC Mr. Maciej Witkowski and Mr. Julian Rotter – Director of International Affairs at ULC.

The main aim of the meeting was to present the Institute of Aviation to the head of the most important safety agency in Europe, as well as to discuss the new framework program for the years 2021-2027 Horizon Europe and the future cooperation between EASA and the Institute of Aviation.

The European Aviation Safety Agency is an agency of the European Union with responsibility for civil aviation safety. It carries out certification, regulation, and standardization, and also performs investigation and monitoring. It collects and analyses safety data, drafts and advises on safety legislation, and coordinates with similar organizations in other parts of the world.
