COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE INSTITUTE OF AVIATION AND THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY

 In accordance with a mutual desire to promote further cooperation in higher education between the United States of America and Poland, The Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering at The Warsaw University of Technology and The Institute of Aviation, Warsaw, Poland and The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA signed a formal agreement for the purpose of educational and cultural exchange.

These institutions have found it mutually beneficial to initiate the following cooperative activities, in the field of aerospace technology:

  1. Research collaboration.
  2. Exchange of faculty, scholars and students for lecturing, advanced studies and research.
  3. Conduct of joint workshops, symposia, etc. on topics of mutual interest.
  4. Exchange of theses, teaching materials, and other scientific and technological literature.

From January 2014, under the Students Exchange Program, the Institute of Aviation hosted four groups of students from the Ohio State University for three-month scientific internship.

In January 2015 began the exchange of doctoral students between the Institute of Aviation and the Ohio State University. The scientific exchange will end in June 2015.

POLISH-AMERICAN CONFERENCE ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

The Institute of Aviation and the Ohio State University initiated a series of Polish-American Conferences on Science and Technology. This event is one of the most recognizable themed event in the world. It is also the largest project in the field of Polish-American bilateral cooperation addressed to people who would like to share their knowledge and experience. The purpose of the conference is to exchange ideas and to strengthen cooperation between Polish and American partners in the area of innovation and high technologies. The conference aims to determine the shape and direction of development of Polish-American relations in science and technology, as well as challenges and problems associated with them. The event is addressed to the representatives of the government, universities, research institutions, as well as representatives of various branches of the economy. Within the conference have been held many meetings and discussion panels on scientific topics.

POLISH-AMERICAN PHD STUDIES PROGRAM

The Institute of Aviation and the Ohio State University have signed an agreement on dual PhD degree program. The offer will benefit researchers of both institutions, who wish to gain research and professional experience outside their home unit.

The new program aims to deepen scientific cooperation between the two institutions, which for years have worked together in the organization of the Polish-American Conference on Science and Technology. Both institutions also conduct workshops and symposia on subjects of common interest and the exchange program, during which the Institute of Aviation hosted four groups of American students for three-month internships. The program also benefited the Polish post-graduate students who develop their scientific interests during six month long staysatthe American university.

The new initiative is to enable students to obtain a doctoral degree bestowedat the same time by the Institute of Aviation and the Ohio State University.
