On June 14, 2021, the general meeting of members of the Association of Polish Aviation Industry (APAI) elected new management board. The new president of the association become the director of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, Paweł Stężycki.
Director Stężycki replaced the outgoing president of the association, Mr. Marek Darecki, the president of the management board and general director of WSK “PZL-Rzeszów” S.A.
The following members were also elected to the APAI management board:
- Janusz Zakręcki – president and director general of PZL Mielec (vice president of APAI),
- Jacek Libucha – president of PZL Świdnik (vice president of APAI),
- Marian Lubieniecki – president of General Electric Company Polska (member of the APAI management board),
- Wojciech Wasik – president of Pratt & Whitney Rzeszów and Pratt & Whitney Kalisz (member of the APAI management board),
- Mirosław Kowalski – director of the Air Force Institute of Technology (member of the APAI management board).
The term of office of the APAI management board is scheduled for 3 years until 2024.
About the association
The Association of Polish Aviation Industry was founded in 2000 to support the dynamic development of the aviation industry in Poland. PAIA is a non-profit organization representing companies and institutions from the aviation, space and defense industries.
Its goals include: creating favorable conditions for the development of aviation industry enterprises in Poland; development of research, skills and qualifications in the field of aviation; cooperation and development of the aviation industry and universities; promotion of the Polish aviation industry; influencing the economic policy of the Polish government in matters related to the aviation industry; representing the Polish aviation, space and defense industry in Europe and around the world; and the organization and development of a cost-effective supply chain.
The Association of Polish Aviation Industry currently brings together 33 companies and institutions from the aviation sector (5 R&D institutions, 15 large enterprises and 13 small and medium-sized enterprises). Together they employ around 14,000 people.
APAI is a member of the AeroSpace and Defense Industries Association of Europe (ASD).
