The team of the Institute for Sustainable Technologies – National Research Institute in Radom in co-operation with the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw took second place in a national competition of the Association of Polish Mechanical Engineers for the technical achievement ” DPZ-250 Cannon air”.
A distinction was awarded to a team composed of: Andrzej Zborowski, Andrzej Majcher, Tomasz Samborski, Stanislaw Kozioł, Jan Przybylski, Simon Zacharski, Wojciech Jóźwik, Mirosław Mrozek of IST-NRI and Grzegorz Socha and Sebastian Szałkowski from the Institute of Aviation.
The DPZ 250 cannon air is a pneumatic installation used for throwing objects weighing up to about 15 kg with speeds up to about 300 m/s. These types of attempts simulate the structure of the aircraft collision with a bird.
The national competition of the Association of Polish Mechanical Engineers was held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Development.
