On 6 August, Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation welcomed Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodeship Adam Struzik and Marcin Wajda, Director of the Department of Regional Development and European Funds at the Marshal’s Office of the Mazovian Voivodeship. The meeting was also attended by Dr Hubert Cichocki, President of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
Representing Łukasiewicz – ILOT were Cezary Szczepański, PhD, DSc, Eng., Professor at ILOT and Director of the Institute; Dr Adam Okniński, Representative for Space Technologies; Paweł Guła, Representative for Research; and Daniel Jaworski, Director of the Energy Technology Centre.
The visit provided an opportunity to present the results of projects carried out with funding from the Regional Operational Programme of the Mazovian Voivodeship, as well as to showcase the Institute’s research and development capabilities, expertise and advanced infrastructure.
The delegation visited Building X and Building N+, home to the Institute’s state-of-the-art Rocket and Satellite Propulsion Laboratory Centre and Gas Turbine Centre. The guests were also introduced to the development plans for the Energy Technology Centre.
Daniel Jaworski presented plans to modernise the Centre’s laboratories and outlined the development of new capabilities supporting Poland’s energy transition. The planned investments will expand the Institute’s capacity to conduct research and develop technologies for next-generation gas and nuclear power systems. They will also contribute to strengthening Poland’s engineering capabilities and expanding cooperation with leading technical universities, including Warsaw University of Technology and the Military University of Technology.
The discussions also highlighted the strategic importance of investment in research infrastructure for strengthening the region’s energy security and creating highly specialised jobs. Expanded laboratory capabilities will support the development of advanced technologies, as well as repair and diagnostic solutions for gas turbines and generators, while laying the groundwork for future nuclear energy systems.
Investments of this kind will further strengthen Mazovia’s position as one of Poland’s leading hubs for advanced technological expertise and innovation.
