Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation was one of the co-organizers of the international scientific symposium “International Symposium on Electric Aircraft and Autonomous Systems” (ISEAS-23). The symposium, which was held in a hybrid formula, was attended by 100 scientists and experts from around the world.

ISEAS is a multidisciplinary symposium that aims to address current issues in the field of aviation, such as: electrification of aircraft, all-electric aircraft, generation and storage of electricity in aircraft, etc.

ISEAS-23 was organized in traditional partnership with the 9th International Scientific and Technical Conference “Problems of Chemmatology. Theory and Practice of Rational Use of Traditional and Alternative Fuels & Lubricants” to discuss common topics on alternative fuels for the aviation sector.

The key point of the symposium program was a discussion panel “Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the aviation sector”, during which the director of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, Paweł Stężycki, and GE Aerospace Executive Director for Technology Program Development in Central and Eastern Europe, Marian Lubieniecki, discussed cooperation prospects with representatives of the Ukrainian aviation industry, especially in the light of the ongoing armed conflict and the future reconstruction period.

Leading specialists from Antonov, Ivchenko-Progress State Enterprise and JSC FED participated on behalf of the Ukrainian partners. They emphasized their interest in both bilateral cooperation with Polish enterprises and joint activities on the European arena.

The discussion panel on alternative fuels in the aviation sector was held remotely with the ICAO/ECAC/EASA offices in Paris and Cologne and was an opportunity to present the main ideas of decarbonization of the sector to a wide range of experts and specialists.

The co-organizers of the ISEAS-23 symposium on the Polish side were Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, Warsaw University of Technology and the Air Force Institute of Technology. The foreign partner was the International Sustainable Aviation and Energy Research Society (SARES).
