Future Sky

Dr. Eng. Paweł Stężycki, director of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, was elected for a two-year term as the Future Sky coordinator in the EREA (Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics). The Institute’s representatives in the Future Sky became also Dr Eng. Andrzej Leski as a group’s board member, Dr. Eng. Bartosz Dziugieł who will take over the leadership of the Advanced Air Mobility Group and Eng. Rafał Żurawski who will lead work on Digital Transformation Theme.

Future Sky is one of the most important thematic groups operating within EREA. It focuses on research activities, innovative projects and developing road maps for new areas of aviation research.

Future Sky’s activities are based mainly on institutional cooperation of European research institutions in the implementation of joint research programs. It is here that strategic work is carried out for the development of the aviation sector in Europe. Works are based on the Fly the Green Deal developed by the European advisory organization for aviation research and innovation ACARE (Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe).

The Future Sky group is also preparing the EREA Researchers Networking Event which aims to gather scientists from all EREA institutes and develop joint projects. In 2024, the main theme of the event will be Advanced Air Mobility.

Taking the lead on Future Sky and its individual groups will allow the Institute to become even more involved in shaping the future of European aviation.

The new nominations will complement the Institute’s members at Future Sky. Currently, the group’s management board also includes Dr. Eng. Andrzej Leski who has been the Institute’s representative since 2023.
