On 30 June–1 July 2026, representatives of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation participated in the European Space Forum in Brussels, one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to space policy, security, and the competitiveness of the space sector.

This year’s edition, held under the theme “Urgency and Ambition: Europe at a Crossroads,” focused on the challenges of strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty, implementing the EU Space Act, enhancing the resilience of space infrastructure, and ensuring Europe’s independent access to space.

During the event, Dr. Eng. Adam Okniński, Plenipotentiary for Space Technologies at the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, moderated the panel discussion “Access to Space – Securing Europe’s Autonomous Launch Capabilities,” which explored the future of European launch systems, the development of launch capabilities, and the actions required to maintain Europe’s independent and competitive access to space.

The discussions held throughout the Forum underscored the growing importance of the space sector for Europe’s security, economic resilience, and technological development. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to translate ambitious European strategies into concrete industrial solutions, targeted investments, and new opportunities for collaboration between public authorities, research institutions, and industry.
