On July 9, representatives of VDMA, the leading European industrial association VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau – German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association), visited Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation as part of the SDI Tech Tour Poland. This prestigious event brings together key European suppliers of Industry 4.0 technologies as well as leaders from the defence and aerospace sectors.
The visit to Łukasiewicz – ILOT had two main objectives. The first was to present our engineering expertise and highlight the specialised equipment at our disposal. Particular attention was devoted to the Centre for Materials and Structures Research and our 3D printing technology using pure copper and its alloys. The second objective was to gain access to VDMA’s international network of contacts, whose members or partners may become potential recipients of our services.
The meeting was led by Paweł Szuchnik, Director of the Centre for Materials and Structures Research, who presented the guests with key research and development areas in which our Institute specialises, including our capabilities in materials and structures testing. Additionally, Michał Fedasz, Head of the Metal 3D Printing Section, presented Łukasiewicz – ILOT’s expertise in advanced manufacturing processes based on 3D printing technologies.
The information presented was met with great interest from our guests.
