On February 1, 2017 the Institute of Aviation witnessed the first meeting of the HIPERGOL project consortium entitled “Development of technology for rocket engines on liquid propellant for new generation of rocket carriers”.
The consortium representatives: the Institute of Aviation (consortium leader), Warsaw University of Technology (Faculty of Mechanical, Power and Aeronautical Engineering) and the Special Production Plant “GAMRAT” Ltd. met to discuss in detail the substantive assumptions of the particular tasks of the project and to present the principles of execution and settlement of the project.
The main objective of HIPERGOL is to develop a rocket engine demonstrator with hipergolic ignition propellant which would be liquid and non-toxic to technical staff. The produced technology will be used in both sustainer rocket engines of launch vehicles, as well as in their final stages.
HIPERGOL is a project co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development within the eighth cyclical competition for national defense and security. The project will be implemented between 2016 and 2019.
