On May 14-18, 2018, representatives of the Institute of Aviation participated in the largest European conference on space propulsion.
The event organized by ESA and 3AF (Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France) was held in Seville. The conference topics related to chemical and electrical rocket propulsion. Over 700 participants represented 29 countries and nearly 100 entities. The Institute of Aviation was represented by Damian Kaniewski, Eng. and Adam Okniński, PhD Eng. from the Space Technologies Department.
Damian Kaniewski gave a presentation on “Flight Test of the Hybdrid Rocket Propulsion System – Lessons Learned from ILR-33 Project”. The presentation was based on data from the flight tests of the ILR-33 “Amber” rocket. Second speaker, Adam Okniński was a co-author of the paper titled “Impulsive helium venting impact”, which was written in cooperation with representatives of the European Space Agency. Both presentations were very well received.
In addition to thematic sessions, a number of meetings were held with representatives of European institutions and companies dealing with rocket technologies. Representatives of the European Space Agency expressed satisfaction with the manner of implementation of subsequent projects by the Institute of Aviation.
The Institute of Aviation participates in 9 out of 11 projects of the European Space Agency implemented so far in Poland in the field of chemical rocket propulsion.
