On the 3rd of March 2017, the Institute of Aviation hosted the first scientific seminar of the Cluster of Polish Wind Tunnels.
The Cluster of Polish Wind Tunnels has been established on the initiative of 3 scientific and research entities – Warsaw University of Technology, Institute of Aviation and the Military University of Technology in Warsaw. Founding of the Cluster stemmed from the defined need to enhance the competitiveness of the sector of the aerodynamics research in Poland. The main aim of the Cluster of Polish Wind Tunnels is to facilitate the communication and integration of the aerodynamics researchers from the founding entities, intensify the exchange of scientific ideas and information among the researchers, allow for the joint development of innovative techniques, conducting joint research and tackling the technical and market challenges.
During the scientific seminar of the Cluster, the researchers from aerodynamics divisions and laboratories of Warsaw University of Technology, Institute of Aviation and the Military University of Technology in Warsaw, associated within the Cluster, had the opportunity to present a full range of their activities and R&D and teaching offers of their tunnels infrastructure as well as acquaint the colleagues with their achievements by showing examples of R&D projects which have been successfully realized by their teams of researchers.
The scientific seminar at the Institute of Aviation was the first of the series of such meetings – they will be organized every 3 months. The next seminar will be held in June this year at the Warsaw University of Technology and will be dedicated to a specific issue within aerodynamics research.
