Rocket Engine Advanced Bimetallic Interface (REABI)

The aim of the project is to develop a manufacturing and welding technology for advanced TZM–316L bimetallic interfaces, enabling durable and hot gas sealed connections between a molybdenum rocket engine combustion chamber and stainless steel injector heads.

In the final phase of the project, a demonstrator of an innovative rocket engine will be built and tested. This demonstrator will feature permanently joined components using the developed bimetallic interface and advanced welding techniques.

Applying this technology to rocket engine production will significantly enhance their durability, particularly in long-duration, multi-cycle missions such as satellite orbital position correction systems.
