ORDEAL project (Operational Resilience of Drones in Experiments and Autonomous fLight)

The ORDEAL project (Operational Resilience of Drones in Experiments and Autonomous fLight) focuses on the development, integration, and evaluation of advanced navigation technologies for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) operating in challenging environments where standard GNSS‑based positioning methods are limited, disrupted, or entirely unavailable. The objective of the project is to enhance the operational resilience of unmanned systems against navigation signal degradation in realistic operational scenarios.

As part of ORDEAL, a technological challenge will be organized involving the design and implementation of controlled, high‑fidelity test environments. These will be carried out across four diversified test campaigns, enabling the recreation of various scenarios and conditions relevant for assessing non‑satellite navigation solutions.
