“Operation of unmanned aircraft systems” conference summary
On March 6, 2019, the Institute of Aviation hosted the participants of the conference “Operation of Unmanned Aerial Systems”. The director of the Center of Space Technologies, Leszek Loroch, addressed a welcome speech to all participants on behalf of the director of the Institute of Aviation. The meeting of experts was opened by Małgorzata Darowska – Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Infrastructure for UAS.
The conference topics covered: new EU regulations regarding BVLOS operations and autonomous flights, U-Space, certification, UAS technology tests and support for personnel development.
The meeting was attended by experts from the most important Polish institutions related to the unmanned and aeronautical industry: Civil Aviation Office, Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, Warsaw University of Technology, Polish Armaments Group, WB Electronics, JSW Innowacje, MSP, Eurotech Sp. z o.o., CNBOP PIB, Office of Technical Inspection, Robot Aviation, Hawk-e, “MikroMakro Institute” Foundation, the Association of Unmanned Aerial Systems and the Association of Young Aviation Engineers.
In total, the conference was attended by roughly 200 participants. Among the conference speakers there were also two representatives of the Institute of Aviation. Mariusz Krawczyk – Head of the Avionics Department took part in the main discussion panel on UAS certification, while in the session “UAS tests”, a presentation on the UTM system in Nevada was delivered by Tomasz Pogorzelski from the Center for Transportation and Energy Conversion.
The conference was organized by the following institutions: the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Institute of Aviation, Lazarski University in Warsaw, Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology and the Association of Unmanned Aerial Systems.
