Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, Hanwha Aerospace Europe and Changwon National University signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of research and development during the 32nd International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce.
The new MoU enables a greater focus on research and development collaboration, facilitating the mutually beneficial exchange of experiences, best practices, as well as the exchange of students and researchers.
“This partnership will strengthen ties between Poland and Korea, particularly in scientific fields related to defense, aviation, and space technologies”, says Paweł Stężycki, director of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation.
“We are committed to deepening cooperation with the Polish industry and the scientific and research community. New joint projects are a mutual opportunity for our industries and scientific communities” – said CEO of Hanwha Aerospace Europe, Billy Boo Hwan Lee.
Polish and Korean partners aim to undertake joint research and development projects in aviation and space technologies, including areas such as manufacturing, overhaul, modernization, repair, and further research of aircraft engines and unmanned vehicle technologies.

The Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation is one of the most advanced research facilities in Europe, with traditions dating back to 1926. Changwon National University (CWNU) is a public higher education institution located in Changwon, South Korea. Since 1969, it has offered a wide range of educational programs at various levels. The university is known for its high quality of education and collaboration with industry, which is confirmed by numerous projects and awards, such as the selection for the LINC+ project and the Presidential Award at the Korea Regional Innovation Convention & Expo.
