Representatives of the LIFE HESOFF (Evaluation of the health state of forests and an effect of phosphite treatments with the use of photovoltaic SLE UAV) project, Sylvia Nasilowska and Anna Mazur from the Remote Sensing Division of the Polish Institute of Aviation and Center of Space Technologies visited the Slovenian Forestry Institute and the LIFEGENMON project in the framework of LIFE project networking visit.
On the day of arrival, 11th May 2016, they were received at the Jože Pučnik airport by the LIFEGENMON project staff. They took a short tour of the Slovenian Forestry Institute and had an opportunity to explore Ljubljana in the afternoon.
On Thursday, 12th May 2016, they presented a keynote lecture and gave a poster presentation at the Scientific Summit Gozd in Les (Forest and Wood): Idea, Innovation, Invention in the Linhart Hall of Cankarjev Dom, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Over 70 people attended the lectures and some of the participants were very interested in their high-quality contributions.
On Friday, 12th May 2016, a networking event was organized in order to find synergies between projects and foster future cooperations. 14 Researchers and professionals from Institutes, Universities and companies in the fields of engineering and development of UAVs (unmanned areial veichles – drones) were present at the event. To kick-off the event, the both LIFE projects were presented. After the initial presentations the possibilities for cooperation and networking were explored in a workshop, moderated by Boris Rantaša, LIFEGENMON Project Dissemination Manager.
After its conclusion, Ms Nasilowska and Mazur had meetings with several networking event participants that were interested in future cooperation. After a working lunch with our project staff and the director of Zavod 404 they departed for Warsaw. The LIFEGENMON team sincerely hopes that the cooperation that started during this networking visit yield results in the future.
