On February 10, 2018 the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow was the venue for the 23rd Aviators and Polish Defense Ball. The Institute of Aviation was the official partner of the event.
The event gathered many distinguished guests associated with Polish aviation and defense. The Institute of Aviation was represented at the event by the acting director of the Institute of Aviation, Leszek Loroch, PhD Eng., the deputy director of the Institute of Aviation, Sylwester Wyka, M.Sc. Eng. and the director of Engineering Design Center, Paweł Stężycki, PhD Eng.
The official part of the event was accompanied by an award ceremony for the best Polish military and civilian pilots. The ball guests also participated in a charity auction, the aim of which was to support people in need from the aviation and defense environment. Among the fifty items being auctioned, there was a painting provided by the Institute of Aviation. Thanks to the generosity of the gathered, 66 thousand zlotys were collected in the auction this year.
The event was organized by Agencja Lotnicza ALTAIR Sp. z o.o. (publisher of “Skrzydlata Polska” and “Raport – wojsko, technika, obronność” magazines) with the support of the Polish Aeroclub, the Polish Aviation Museum, the Foundation of People of Aviation and the Social Committee of the Centennial of Polish Aviation.
