In November 2010, Krzysztof Szafran, Ph. D. Eng, tested latest hoovercraft manufactured at the Institute of Aviation – PRC-600M. It is the first model of the new production series PRC, numbered 09.
Experience gained with the prototype – commonly known as “zero” or “silent” – allowed to create hoovercraft which is 130 kg lighter, with bigger passenger booth, and front draught balloon ended with smaller apron. Theoretically hoovercraft can carry up to eight passengers or 600 kg of equipment. It’s top speed should reach 70 km/h on the still water. All the other parameters are the same as in previously manufactured models from the series’ PRP-560 and PRP-560M, which are currently working for polish WOPR and foreign clients.
