The long-awaited 7E gas turbine simulator reached the Gas Turbine Center at the Institute of Aviation. The turbine simulator will be used for instrumentation tests and turbine servicing, thanks to which, besides performing inspections, training for assembly and disassembly of particular turbine components will also be possible.
The newly arrived turbine is one of the two 7E units installed at The Power Generation Company of Trinidad & Tobago. The turbine was built in Greenville in the early 80s. After its retirement in 2016 a decision was made to to ship the unit to the newly created Gas Turbine Center at the Institute of Aviation.
The turbine was transported from Trinidad & Tobago, whence in the middle of July it was unloaded in Gdańsk. From Gdańsk it was transported on a trailer to Warsaw. The unit was placed in the assembly shop at the Gas Turbine Center. Currently further installation work is being carried out.
