On the 4-5th October 2016, the Institute of Aviation hosted young researchers from the research establishments associated within EREA – European Research Establishments in Aeronautics, who came to the Institute within the framework of the annually organized EREA Young Researchers Event.
This year’s edition of the event was devoted to writing and evaluating of the proposals within the EU Framework Programme Horizon 2020. It was organized in a form of a 2-day training under the title How to Write a Competitive Proposal for Horizon 2020? The training was conducted by an experienced trainer from Ireland – Dr. Sean McCarthy.
On the first day, after an official welcome address by the Engineering Design Center Director Paweł Stężycki, the researchers were presented with the structure and terminology of Horizon 2020, proposal evaluation methods as well as practical information on writing of the proposals.
The second day was organized in a form of a workshop, preceded with a presentation Briefing and Tips & Tricks from an H2020 evaluatorgiven by Mr. Krzysztof Piwek. During this practical part of the training, the participants read and later, in groups of four evaluated the original H2020 proposal submitted to EC in the previous year.
The workshop concluded with the presentations of the evaluations and the general group discussion.
