On 18-19 April 2018, at the Lazarski University in Warsaw, the Civil Aviation Safety Conference was organized by the Civil Aviation Authority. The Institute of Aviation marked its presence during the event in the part devoted to general issues and General Aviation organizations, during which the issues of increasing the level of flight operations safety were discussed.
The conference participants from the Institute of Aviation were experts from the Center for New Technologies and the Center of Space Technologies: Leszek Loroch, PhD Eng. – director of CST, Paweł Głowacki, PhD Eng., Marek Idzikowski, PhD Eng. and Bartosz Dziugieł, PhD Eng.
Leszek Loroch gave a speech on “Aviation occurrences caused by inefficiencies of airframe installations and drive assemblies – proposals for actions to increase the level of safety”. The aim of the presentation was to present the safety risk resulting from the disability of the above-mentioned installations during flight operations based on the ECCAIRS database (European Coordination Center for Accident and Incident Reporting Systems) containing data on aviation occurrences reported by various organizations.
Since 2015, the Institute of Aviation, in accordance with the agreement with the Civil Aviation Office, presented over a dozen studies on the level of aviation safety in domestic civil aviation. Engineers of the Institute of Aviation are the authors of proposals regarding the methods of analysis of aviation occurrences and the quality of work of aviation organizations. They also proposed a new way of operating air piston engines that would increase the level of safety of their use.
