The 15th Night at the Institute of Aviation – European Researchers’ Night is behind us. On 25 September, the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation campus once again became a meeting place for science, technology and a passion for aviation and space. This year’s edition of the event attracted around 45,000 visitors.
From 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., visitors could enjoy hundreds of attractions prepared by scientists, engineers and experts from the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, as well as by event partners and exhibitors. Science that attracts crowds
For six hours, the Institute’s campus was filled with visitors of all ages. The programme included science shows, experiments, workshops, educational stations, exhibitions, technology demonstrations and meetings with people who work every day on solutions for aviation, space, defence and advanced transportation.
Uncrewed technologies, robots and rovers, simulators and virtual reality solutions proved particularly popular. Visitors also had the opportunity to take a closer look at technologies developed by the Institute and learn what the work of scientists and engineers looks like behind the scenes.
There were also plenty of attractions related to aviation and space. Participants could see exhibits, explore the history of Polish aviation technologies and talk to specialists working on contemporary research and development projects.
From experiments to technologies for aviation and space
Event participants had the opportunity to meet experts in person. The chance to ask questions, see behind the scenes of laboratory work and explore technologies “from the inside” is one of the reasons why the event has attracted successive generations of science enthusiasts for years.
The programme also featured lectures, talks and presentations covering topics such as aviation, space, advanced technologies, uncrewed aerial vehicles, robotics and security. Event partners representing various areas of Poland’s aviation ecosystem also presented their activities.
A special anniversary edition
This year’s edition was particularly special as it took place during the 100th anniversary year of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, which for a century has been developing technologies and conducting research for the Polish and international aviation and space industries.
Over the years, the Night at the Institute of Aviation has become one of Warsaw’s largest events dedicated to popularising science and aviation technologies. Each edition provides an opportunity to show that science is not confined to laboratories – it can be experienced, seen in action and explored through conversations with the people who create it.
