SORA Assistance

Support in conducting Specific Operation Risk Assessment (SORA) for Risk Analysis according to AMC

Before submitting an application to the Civil Aviation Authority for permission to operate an unmanned aircraft in the specific category, excluding standard scenarios, a risk analysis must be conducted. The methodology recommended by the Civil Aviation Authority is SORA (Specific Operation Risk Assessment), developed by the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS) and subsequently adapted to European regulations by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

SORA is a complex process that requires the operator to have the ability to use risk mitigation measures and knowledge of various additional aspects.

In order to support the rapidly developing BSP industry and streamline the process of obtaining permits for operations in the specific category, Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation offers support in conducting risk analysis using the SORA methodology, assistance in preparing the application to the Civil Aviation Authority, and help in developing other necessary documents for a specific planned operation.

The basic scope of support includes:

  • Conducting risk analysis using the SORA methodology.
  • Completing the application to the Civil Aviation Authority.
  • Support in creating Operating Procedures and ConOps (Concept of Operations) documents.
  • Consultations to gather detailed data regarding the planned operation.

The price and deadline for conducting the analysis are determined individually, based on the level of operation complexity and the requirements necessary to obtain the permit.
