On the 18th–21st of October 2016, the 6th EASN International Conference „Innovation in European Aeronautics Research” was held in Porto, Portugal.
The event gathered about 250 participants from all over the world, mainly representing foreign HEIs, research institutes, but also the European Commission and the aerospace industry enterprises.
At the Conference, the Institute of Aviation was represented by 13 people, most of whom delivered speeches on the latest achievements and works of the Institute of Aviation, at several thematic sessions such as: Multidisciplinary Optimisation, Hybrid Electric Technologies, Design Challenges for Future Aero-Engines and Small Air Transport Challenges. The researchers of the Institute of Aviation were also responsible for chairing some of the sessions at the Conference.
The Institute of Aviation had also been allocated its own promotional booth, where the representatives of the Institute of Aviation provided information and data on, inter alia, the structure, activity and offer of the Institute. The booth was also a center for networking activities between researchers from the Institute and the representatives of foreign entities participating in the Conference.
During the session of the EASN Board of Directors on the last day of the event, it was agreed that the 7th edition of the EASN Conference will be held jointly at the Institute of Aviation and the Warsaw University of Technology in the Fall of 2017.
