On June 17-20, 2019, an international conference 24th ESA Symposium on European Rocket & Balloon programmes and related research took place in Essen. This event provides a discussion forum for scientists and engineers using sounding rockets and balloons for research, technology verification and education purposes. Participants represented leading research institutions and test ranges operators, such as: ESA, NASA, JAXA, DLR, CNES, Andoya Space Center, Swedish Space Corporation and organizers of REXUS/BEXUS campaign.

The event was attended by the representatives of the Center of Space Technologies from the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation, who presented Institute’s offer with a focus on rocket atmosphere sounding. ILR-33 AMBER rocket modules and video materials from tests were shown at the exhibition stand. Michał Pakosz presented a speech entitled „ILR-33 AMBER ROCKET – Quick, low cost and dedicated access to suborbital flights for small experiments”. The Institute was also represented by Damian Kaniewski and Tomasz Noga.

Participation in 24th ESA PAC Symposium allowed to present, on the global forum, technologies developed at the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation. Better understanding of research needs of the scientific community, information and opinions exchange with representatives of other research centers around the world and test ranges operators is very important and helps to improve Institute’s offer.
