On September 17-21, with the sponsorship support of the Institute of Aviation, held the 12th Intercollegiate Aviation Engineering Workshops in Bezmiechowa. As every year, workshops were organized by the Association of Young Aviation Engineers. The IAEW is an event focused on the theme of UAV’s and it gathered scientific, academic and military representatives across the country. During the workshops a competition for Academic Unmanned Flying Vehicle was also held.
This year, the workshops were attended by representatives from universities such as Warsaw University of Technology, Lublin University of Technology, Rzeszów University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology and the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy. Many employees of the Institute of Aviation are also members of the Association of Young Aviation Engineers and the Institute is a key partner of the Association. Every year the Institute of Aviation supports the Intercollegiate Aviation Engineering Workshops. This year, employees of the Institute gave a number of very interesting papers on ongoing projects at the Institute during the workshops.
The Institute of Aviation also supplied dozens of books from the Scientific Publishers of the Institute of Aviation, which were meant as prizes for the contestants of the Academic Unmanned Flying Vehicle.
In the competition for unmanned flying vehicle the first prize went to a team from the Scientific Society of SAE Aero Design Warsaw University of Technology. In the competition for an unmanned multicopters the winner was the Scientific Circle “High Flyers” of the Silesian University of Technology. The Aero AGH team won the award for the most interesting presentation of the activities of the scientific circle.
