The WentILOT 1.0 pressure ventilator will be ready for medical tests in the coming days. After their positive pass and a directional decision of the Ministry of Development it will be possible to start production of the equipment.
The ventilator’s design assumptions were consulted with the employees of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Clinic at the “Children’s Memorial Health Institute”.
– Our ventilator is no substitute for a professional, technologically advanced device allowing for full therapy. However, it can be helpful in countries where the situation in health care is difficult or in other extreme circumstances related to the epidemic leading to temporary shortages of equipment – says the author of the solution, Łukasz Czajkowski, PhD. Eng. who works in a team led by Agnieszka Sobieszek, MSc. from Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation.
The project is implemented on the initiative and with the support of the coordinating team operating at the Ministry of Development.
Technical tests of the equipment should be completed in the coming days. After that, WentILOT 1.0 will be able to undergo clinical tests allow for obtaining appropriate certificates and status of a medical product
