On 30 August 2017, an official meeting was held in the Aerodynamics Research Laboratory with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Institute of Aviation, the Institute of Sport and the Polish Ski Association together with members of the national ski jumping team. The visit included test flights scheduled for this day.
The official part of the meeting started with a safety training for the guests of the Institute of Aviation conducted by the head of the Aerodynamics Research Laboratory, Grzegorz Krysztofiak.
The meeting was attended by: Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism, Jan Widera, deputy minister assistant, Grzegorz Botwina, leading Polish ski jumpers: Kamil Stoch, Stefan Hula, Maciej Kot, Piotr Żyła, Jakub Wolny, Krzysztof Miętus and Dawid Kubacki, representatives of the training staff: Stefan Horngacher, Michał Dolezal, Grzegorz Sobczyk, Kacper Skrobot, Zbigniew Klimowski, Adam Małysz, Łukasz Gębala and Matthias Prodinger, representatives of the Institute of Sport, headed by the director of the institution, Urszula Włodarczyk, and deputies: Piotr Żmijewski and Wojciech Derej, as well as Patrycja Lipińska, and representatives of the Institute of Aviation together with the director, Witold Wiśniowski.
After the safety training, the national team began tests in a five-meter wind tunnel with the support of the training staff and experts from the Aerodynamics Research Laboratory.
The tunnel has already served as a platformfor ski jumping tests in the past. Some of the most famous Polish ski jumpers, including Adam Małysz and Kamil Stoch, have trained there. The professional service and experience of the experts of the Institute of Aviation during that tests resulted in renewed cooperation, this time with a new generation of Polish ski jumpers.
