Adam Okniński, director of Space Technologies Center at the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, was awarded Young Space Leader by International Astronautical Federation. Dr Okniński is one of 5 people from around the world who have been awarded this title!

The IAF Young Space Leaders title is awarded to exceptional individuals under 35 years old, who contribute to astronautics in their academic or early careers, reach out to other young people and their communities to share knowledge and experiences, have been engaged with the international space community and contribute to IAF activities. Since 2024 dr Adam Okniński is the Vice-Chair of the IAF Space Propulsion Committee, which gathers circa 50 individuals from leading entities, including NASA, ESA, JAXA, DLR, ArianeGroup, Airbus D&S.

Adam Okniński is also a Full Member of the IAA (International Academy of Astronautics) and the only Full Member from Poland within Engineering Sciences.

The IAF awards will be presented at the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), which will be held from September 29 to October 3, 2025 in Sydney, Australia.
