Description: The book presents a study of the application of the low velocity philosophy of blade tip speeds to rotorcraft with high cruising speed about 50% higher than that achieved by conventional helicopters. The analysis of the effect caused by the change of blade tip speed on the performance and structural-mass indices of complex helicopters according to the following concepts was carried out: a helicopter with a driven rotor, in a sling and transition states of flight, cold outlet nozzles, and in a selfrotating mode of flight; a single-rotor configuration helicopter with a rotor driven by a shaft torque in all states of flight, and a synchropter, in which the principle of utilization of the load capacity of the rubbing blades “rubbing blades” is applied, the so-called ABC (Advanced Blade Concept). The book may be useful for those who will shape the future policy of building silent rotorcraft and for those who will design such aircraft.
