Biography

Professor dr hab. eng. Adam Wiśniewski, a retired Lieutenant Colonel, has been focusing on scientific activity like material engineering and mechanics, connected with the different types of armours, ammunition, protecting structures, etc. So far, his 25 inventions have been patented and patent applications have been filed, among which the most important are the following: the ERAWA-1 and ERAWA-2 explosive reactive armours; the CAWA passive armours; the CERAWA-1 passive-reactive armours; different types of warheads; the use of rheological (STF) and magnetorholgical (MRF) fluids in protection structures. The armies of Poland and Malaysia are equipped with the PT-91 Hard tanks with the add-on modular ERAWA-1 and ERAWA-2 cassettes, protected by three patents.

Professor Adam Wiśniewski is an author of four books, 255 papers published by Polish and international journals, issued in the proceedings of Polish and international conferences, and 214 unpublished written reports. He has participated in 23 research projects, two of them financed by the European Union and one – by NATO HQ. He has been granted a membership of scientific committees and scientific programming boards of various specialistic conferences and journals.

Professor Wiśniewski became a member of Paper Selection Committee of the 26th International Symposium on Ballistic, which was held in Miami, in September 2011 and a member of Poland – USA panel A-IEP-PL-2009-1826.
