Description: Inertial Cardanless Orientation and Navigation Systems are used to generate real-time information about the orientation (e.g. course, pitching, rolling) and position (e.g. height above the ground, latitude and longitude) of objects with spatial motion. The system consists of: accelerometers, giroscopes and navigation computers. Cardanless systems are increasingly used in various means of transport: land vehicles, ships, planes, missiles, and devices: underwater manipulators, mobile robots, unmanned flying objects. The book presents in great detail various algorithms for determining the position and orientation of objects on the basis of signals received from navigation devices. The algorithms include estimation of errors of measurement sensors, as well as errors resulting from the adopted approximate methods of solving kinematic and navigational equations. Methods of correction of these errors have been proposed. The book is intended primarily for researchers, engineers and students of aviation, automotive industry and robotics.
