Workshop is organized to tribute contributions of Professor Piotr Wolański on development of the Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE).


Workshop Schedule: 21-23 October 2020

The Workshop will be organized as a hybrid event (the virtual and in-person attendance).

During Workshop all aspects related to the research devoted to Detonative Propulsion will be included, with special focus on:

  • new concepts/ideas devoted to the detonative propulsion from sub-component to system levels,
  • experimental research on continuously rotating detonation and pulsed detonation,
  • development of the systems working on liquid fuels,
  • analytical and computational methods of detonation propulsion from sub-component to system levels,
  • development of propulsion systems based on detonative combustion.

Submission of the contributions:

1-2 pages abstract of the presentation should be sent by 20th September 2020 and notification of acceptance of the paper for presentation will be made by 2nd October 2020. The full paper for the presentation/publications should be submitted by 16 October 2020. All submitted and presented papers, after peer review, will be published in the Journal “Transactions on Aerospace Research” published by the Łukasiewicz Research Network-Institute of Aviation.

Speeches, abstracts and papers are accepted in English only.

Because travel restriction are still partially lifted, morning session on 21-23 October will be organized at Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation with tele-broadcasting of the event to the participants from the country who will not be able to travel to Warsaw, and during afternoon session/sessions (depending on number of remote participants) tele-presentation and tele-discussion will be organized.

Tele-session will be organized only on the afternoon (1:00 pm-5:00 pm – European Standard Time) to allow participation of scientist from Far East –UTC (+08:00-9:00, or 7-8pm-11-12pm) and from the West – 7am-11am US EST).

Workshop Fee

Participation in the Workshop will be FREE for all presenters who will submit his/her contribution for publication in the journal “Transactions on Aerospace Research”. Information on preparation of the paper (Paper’s template.pdf) is available here.

For people who will not present any contribution registration Fee will be 200 Euro (for students 100 Euro).  This will include: participation in the Workshop, printed program/papers, coffee/tea break, lunch on 21/23 October and conference proceedings.

For tele-participants without presentation the Registration Fee will be 50 Euro (for access to tele-workshop). Fee for students will be 25 Euro.

All participants of the IWDP 2020 will receive a copy of the journal “Transactions on Aerospace Research” with articles submitted for the IWDP 2020.

During Workshop there will also be organized competition for Young Researcher (younger than 35 years) for best contribution.

Decision about way and method of payment will be made at the mid-September 2020.

Authors of accepted contributions are kindly requested to submit their presentations in English language (ppt or pdf), no later than by 16th October 2020.

Information on the subject of availability of presentations will be sent to participants at the beginning of October 2020.

Program of the Workshop will be published on the website no later than by 12th October 2020.
